Planted as soon as the soil is workable these peas are harvested for the pods so harvest them early and often. These peas need to be trellised as the vines can easily reach 6 feet. When done harvesting them clip at the base of the plants and leave the roots in the soil to add nitrogen back into the soil for your next crop.
plant 1 pea every 4 inches when soil is workable ( the earlier the better)
fertilize at planting with a well balanced fertilizer
harvest peas before the pods start to fatten up
When it starts to get hot the pea vines will start to brown from the bottom up this is when you should remove them from your garden.
