This listing is for one packet containing 400 seeds of Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa). The seeds were freshly collected in the fall of 2024 and are packaged for planting in 2025.

Wild Bergamot produces clusters of lavender-pink, two-lipped, tubular flowers that can reach 1-3 inches in diameter. The blooms are fragrant, and the foliage emits a citrus mint aroma reminiscent of bergamot oranges. This plant provides pollen and nectar, attracting pollinators, including butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, wasps, and moths. Additionally, Wild Bergamot makes for lovely cut flowers.

This plant prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It is a host plant for the raspberry pyrausta moth (Pyrausta signatalis). Wild Bergamot typically grows to a height of 2-4 feet with a spread of 1-2 feet, thriving in rich organic soil. However, it can also tolerate sandy or clay soils as long as they are moist and well-drained.

Wild Bergamot features square stems and lance-shaped leaves that are opposite and slightly toothed. Its seed heads attract birds during the fall and winter months.
